Quartes de Chaume la Martinière grand cru, 2018 | Anjou, Loire | 50cl
Region: Anjou Loire
Grape: Chenin Blanc
Farming: Certified organic
Tasting Note: A gorgeous bright golden colour with an iIntense nose of candied citrus fruit, mango, apricot patisserie, dried rose petals and spice. On the palate the wine is mineral and taut with the tart, slightly bitter not often found in Quarts de Chaume. Complex, original, beauty crafted sweet wine.
Background: La Martinière is located at the foot of the Chaume hillside on its most stony part, on sand and schist soils. It’s a south-west facing plot made up of 200 small rows planted on a full slope (30 to 40%) This terroir yields very concentrated grapes that ripen very quickly and early, with the botrytis arriving very early in the season.
Serving: Serving: Cold - but not too cold! (10–12°C).
