Côte de la Houssaye Anjou, 2021 | Anjou, Loire
Region: Anjou, Loire
Grape/s: Cabernet Sauvignon
Farming: Organic (certified)
Tasting Note: This is a beautiful and intense example of Cabernet Sauvignon with the schist and cool climate giving this wine a racy savouriness. There are notes of aniseed, forest floor and sappy blackcurrant.
Background: This single plot - Côte de la Houssaye - sits on the typical Anjou Noir schist. The bunches are destemmed and moved to concrete tanks for maceration. It is then moved to 400 litre and 500 litre barrels for fermentation. The wine will then spend one year ageing in 500-litre barrels.
Serving: Perfect to enjoy cellar temp or after about 10 minutes in the fridge.
