Chablis Clos Béru Monopole, 2019 | Chablis, Burgundy
Region: Chablis, Burgundy
Grape: Chardonnay
Farming: Organic & biodynamic certified
Tasting Note: This crown jewel is not to be underestimated; it is powerful, intensity and has serious ageability. It is laced with ripe citrus, citrus rind, fresh Spring blossom and a savoury minerality.
Background: This is the top cuvée from Anthénaïs, the emblem of the estate. Hailing from a single vineyard - a monople - that is only owned by Château de Beru. The plot sits beside the Château at 300m above sea level and is an outcrop of pure Kimmeridgian limestone. There is a long ageing period of 18 months in demi-muids, followed by a year in foudre and 6 months in bottle.
Serving: Take this out of the fridge 10 minutes before you want to drink it - try it at 10-12°C
