Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Les Champs Perdrix, 2019 | Côte de Beaune, Burgundy
Region: Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Burgundy
Grape: Pinot Noir
Farming: Organic & biodynamic
Tasting Note: Lavish and seductive with velvety tannins. This is very pure and direct with exemplary finesse. Perfumed, long and ethereal. Absolutely superb!
Background: From marly, gravelly soils with very little earth. The vines are 41 years old and have been farmed organically for 28 years. Champs Perdrix is a very common vineyard name in Burgundy and is used to denote rocky, stoney soils - this parcel is located up behind Nuits-Saint-Georges close to Arcenant in the Hautes-Côtes.
This terroir always yields very tense, and austere wine in youth which gives the wine a beautiful freshness as it ages which with the ripe fruit makes for sensational Pinot.
Serving: Room temp (15-17°C). Decanting is recommended.
