MANGAL 1, DALSTON, LONDON
LA MAISON ROMANE MOUSE SAUVAGE pinot noir
"A legendary BYO spot, 20 years strong, skip the starters and go straight for the grilled goodness, you can’t go wrong with any of them but the cop sis andtavuk beyti are my favourites.
My favourite new editions to the Emile list are the Maison Romane winey-beers, the pinot or the aligoté,the fizz and acid cuts through a fatty meal like a knife"

XIAN IMPRESSION, HIGHBURY, LONDON
ATHÉNAÏS BÉRU, BOURGOGNE ALIGOTÉ MACÉRATION, 2018
"It’s got to be Xi’an Impression (right opposite the Arsenal stadium) is in slightly stressful part of town, it’s tiny restaurant and doesn’t take bookings, but the food is phenomenal and some of the best Chinese food in London. My go-to order is BiangBiang noodles (I prefer the veggie ones), then the cold ginger chicken with a side of rice. Everyone should try the vinegary black fungus. Come hungry and bring lots of friends so you can try more dishes . Crack open a gorgeous bottle Athénaïs Beru’s orange Aligoté - the texture, structure and spice found in the wine is the perfect pairing for the punchy, flavourful food. "

Hanar Kurdish Restaurant( Previously Yaddas)Opposite Peckham Rye Station, LONDON
SARNIN BERRUX, BEAUNE ROUGE, 2015
"Hanar Kurdish Restaurant, (previously Yaddas). Tucked away under the railway arches just opposite Peckham Rye Station it is slightly ramshackle but in the best way and you can only book by DMing them on InstagramFor food I would start with naan and all the dips (the walnut is my fave), as well as their famous Kubba and Zaraat Fries. Mains, as a veggie, I punt for the Tapsi but I have it on good authority that the Shredded Lamb is really something! And for drinking, I think if you are BYO you can treat yourself with a super nice bottle, so I'd probably go for Sarnin-Berrux Beaune Rouge 2105."

VIET SOHO, CENTRAL LONDON
DOMAINE DES HUARDS, PURE
"After a long day of meandering the city and battling the crowds of tourists, I love to slink down Greek Street into the no-frills, often steamy room of Viet Soho. This is worlds away from the decadence of central London and a place where the rapid-pace fresh food always leaves me feeling cleansed and reinvigorated. I start with the Goi Vietnamese salad which packs a delightfully tangy punch, before crescendoing into the hot, spicy pork and prawn broth Bun Bo Hue.My favourite wine that manages to take on the heat, as well as bringing out the nuance of all those aromats, is without a doubt Domaine des Huards Pure."

NIGHT IN
ANTOINE PETITPREZ, ROUE LIBRE, 2020
The team have agreed that their perfect night in with the person they care about most would consist or a plate of Bre Graham's Penne a la Vodka and a bottle of Antoine Petitprez's Rou Libre. Snuggled up watching something warm and romantic like Sideways or A Good Year.
