Rosé Prestige, 2022 | Coteaux Varois en Provence
Region: Coteaux Varois en Provence
Grape/s: Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle & Syrah
Farming: Organic certified
Tasting Note: Rosé has become so fashionable it’s almost a brand, but believe us when we say there is tremendous variation in style and quality based on where and how it is made - think organically farmed vs mass-produced and the influence of terroir on the wines' taste.
Cala’s rosés encapsulate the limestone and clay soils of this sub-appellation of Provence; delivering a wine that showcases Provençal summer fruits, zesty, salty acidity and hints of the local garrigue herbs (lavender, thyme, rosemary).
Background: Grown on clay & limestone soils in the Varois, this sub-appellation of Provence sits high on a plateau sitting at 250-500 metres above sea level, yielding wines of elegance and delicacy.
The touch of barrel work and bâtonnage (lees work) on the Prestige cuvée lends additional depth and complexity.
Serving: Straight from the ice bucket.
