A 70/30 blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir grown on a single plot, 'Le Clos'. There is 20% whole bunch and it is aged for 10 months in enamel tanks.

Tasting Note: St-Pourçain is located in the Auvergne - a very beautiful and remote part of France, technically part of the Loire but with much more in common with the far closer Beaujolais region, not least as Gamay is the chosen grape here, accounting for nearly 50% of the region's vineyards. The soils here are on clay-limestone, granite and gneiss. This is a very juicy expression of gamay - more fruit and less aromatic than Gamay from the Beaujolais.

Background: Grown at an altitude of 360m, on sandy clay sols on granite and gneiss. Age of vines: 16-61 years Aging: 10 months in concrete vats (Gamay) and barrels (Pinot Noir).

Serving: Cellar temp (12- 15 °C).
