Tasting Note: Despite the cool vintage and Nicolas's use of north and north easterly vineyards which help to promote freshness and poise in his wines, this showcases hints of tropical fruit aromas and a moreish opulence.
This is from a single plot where the 44 year old vines grow on chalky, limestone soils.
Background: Made in the Maillet style of a long, cool fermentation, circa 10 months, in concrete tanks. 40-50 mg/l total sulphur.
Serving: Cold - but not too cold! (10–12°C).
